Removable Dinghy Davits
With a need to sail with a hard dinghy, and no desire to tow the little boat behind Tenacious, Ed Walters initially searched for used davits to purchase. Soon, he determined that the only solution was to build them. These photos show the set-up which includes one-inch stainless steel pipes, stainless steel fittings to join the pipes together, a standard 4:1 purchase block and tackle system, and stabilizing ropes to keep the boat from swaying.
Because this dinghy isn't needed often, the system was designed for quick removal and can be installed/uninstalled in about five minutes.
